The Power of Intention: Everything We Do in Music Class Matters

We are so in love with time spent in our music circles and we constantly hear that you are too!

Did you know that music is one of the most powerful tools for shaping young minds? Research has shown that exposure to music from an early age can have a multitude of benefits like cognitive development, language skills, emotional regulation, social bonding, motor skills and more.

Maybe you’re a Here We Grow Family Music Class regular or maybe you’ve seen pics on your Instagram feed or heard about our beloved music circles from friends. Have you seen us shaking eggs or dancing with scarves and thought we’re silly? We are! But also (and more importantly!), in our music circles, every note, every activity, and every interaction is infused with intention.

Here's how we ensure that each moment in class contributes meaningfully to your child's development:

  • Structured Curriculum: Our curriculum is carefully designed to align with key developmental milestones. Each activity is purposefully sequenced to build upon the last, creating a scaffold of learning that supports growth and progression. Have you ever noticed that we start small, build and build energetically and with volume and then ultimately bring it all back down with a book and lullaby to the energetic place we started? That’s for a reason! We might do very playful work but we take your little ones’ attention spans seriously!

  • Multi-Sensory Engagement: We believe in the power of multi-sensory experiences to enhance learning. From listening to different musical genres to feeling the vibrations of instruments, children engage with music through all their senses, deepening their understanding and appreciation.

  • Individualized Attention: Every child is unique, and we celebrate that in our classes. Our team strives to create a nurturing environment where every child feels seen, heard, and valued, and we tailor our approach to meet the specific needs and interests of every participant.

  • Parent or Primary Caregiver Involvement: We recognize that YOU are a child's first and most important teacher. That's why we encourage active participation in our classes, providing caregivers with tools and techniques to continue the musical journey at home. When your little one sees that you’re engaged, they will be too. You can help show them how powerful and fun music is for folks of all ages!

  • Joyful Exploration: Above all, we believe that learning should be a joyful, playful experience. Through play, story time, movement and creative expression, we hope our classes will ignite a lifelong passion for music in every child who walks through our doors.

We love being on this musical adventure with you. Let's continue to harmonize our voices, clap our hands, and dance to the rhythm, knowing that every beat brings us a little closer to unlocking the potential within each and every child and family.
