What is a Play Party?
Ooey Gooey Play Parties are sensory celebrations. We’ll start and end our sessions as a group. In the middle you’ll move through stations with your child. Here We Grow staff will be on hand to provide guidance and material management. You are responsible for supervising your child as they play.
We provide balanced play opportunities.
Activities are carefully curated to provide a wide variety of age appropriate experiences. Littles will experience a spectrum of senses - wet and dry, plain and colorful, light and dark, smooth and sticky. There are lots of familiar materials and textures at the same time as we are introducing new ones to provide a sense of familiarity and create a safe space to explore and take risks. Play Party activities have been collaboratively crafted by various experts from the early childhood field.
Messy play is multi-faceted.
Littles will engage in exploration stations using all their senses. As they play and create, they’ll also be coordinating their body position, motor skills, balance, and spatial awareness. Messy play is also social. Sharing, cause and effect, and choice are all a part of the activities at hand.
Our play stations are taste-friendly.
All stations will have a printed list near them outlining any ingredients they contain. It is your decision as the parent on whether you want your little one to participate in a particular activity. Please be aware of the station contents before letting your child dive in.
Ooey gooey play is ooey gooey.
Your little one is going to get messy. We encourage you to bring a towel, wipes and either an oversized shirt to use as an apron while they play or a complete change of clothes to put on after class. You might get messy too. The best play happens when you get involved.
We are an eco-conscious crew.
As much as possible, we work to reduce waste by reusing and repurposing items. We frequently source materials through local buy nothing groups or small businesses. Because sensory activities frequently use food products, we have made a commitment to donate a portion of our proceeds to organizations supporting food insecurity and food scarcity.
